When I retired I was given a three night writers retreat on Whidbey Island. I have been researching for the next book a historical fiction about Susanna White-Winslow who was a Mayflower Pilgrim. I’m frustrated with how one of the most important people of this time is forgotten. She not only lived, but kept her children alive, which is no minor feat. I brought 11 books, and I have been reading, googling and napping on her behalf. Hoping to find that first line.
